Daddy Electrician Ltd recently completed an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for a rented flat in Wandsworth, SW18. Both observations were recorded as Code C3 recommendations. This means they do not make the installation unsafe or prevent the report from being satisfactory, but improvements are recommended to bring the installation closer to current standards and provide additional protection. A modern metal consumer unit can provide improved fire containment, while an SPD can help protect sensitive electrical equipment from transient overvoltages, such as those caused by switching or supply disturbances. Outcome📍 The landlord received a satisfactory EICR confirming that the installation was suitable for continued use, subject to the report’s stated limitations. The report also clearly set out the recommended improvements, giving the client useful information for future electrical upgrades and maintenance planning.
